GUIDE / NOT A CLINIC

Public check / one state tool

Check the name in the state record, not on the ad

The useful match is exact: person, profession, status, and any public action.

A

Get the full name

Ask for the medical professional’s name and kind of license, such as doctor, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner. For a pharmacy, use the name printed on the label or shipment record.

B

Open the Colorado lookup

Choose the matching profession. Start with the name, then confirm the record belongs to the same person or business.

C

Read the record

Check whether the license is active and whether the board lists any action it has taken against the license. No listed action is not a quality rating.

D

Keep both checks separate

A medical professional’s record does not prove a pharmacy record, and a pharmacy record does not prove the care was sound.

Colorado lookup

One free tool covers several professions

As of September 2026, Colorado’s state search can check doctors, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and pharmacies.

Open the state lookup

Ad claim → exact name → state record → matching license.

The state’s license record is stronger evidence than a seal copied onto a sales page.
